US educators continue their visit to Cuban province

CAMAGUEY, Cuba, Mar 21 (ACN) Participants in the event Investigative Searches between US and Cuban educators visited the Maximo Gomez Baez Pre-University Vocational Institute of Exact Sciences (IPVCE by its Spanish acronym), with the aim of learning about the attention received by the talented students who are trained in that center.

Lazaro Vazquez Velazquez, director of the Provincial Training Center for High Academic Performance (CEPARA by its Spanish acronym), commented that the students currently attending are taken from elementary and junior high school to join the classrooms of that institution.

The members of CEPARA, he said, are prepared mainly in the subjects Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science and Geography, and he added that Spanish, History and English have also been incorporated.

Vazquez Velazquez pointed out that the nine subjects have national competitions, while in the case of the six basic sciences, they contribute to the national pre-selection of the Cuba teams for international events.

A similar meeting took place at the Nicolas Guillen Batista Pedagogical School, where the foreign delegation inquired about the Project With infinite love, composed of 100 students and which addresses issues of interest related to responsible sexuality, the consequences of drug use and racial equality, said Yisel Cisneros, coordinator of that initiative.

Upon receiving them, Idilma Columbie Espada, director of the school, said that currently the enrollment exceeds 1,300 students in 13 specialties that allow the training of new teachers for early childhood, primary schools, basic secondary schools and artistic education.

US educators stated that one of the approaches is to advocate the removal of Cuba from the list of countries sponsoring terrorism, which they call "madness", when the Cuban government and people have always demonstrated that they are defenders of peace in the world.
