Cuba and France’s region of Brittany strengthen cooperation

HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 17 (ACN) Cuba's ambassador to France, Otto Vaillant, met with authorities of the Breton department of Côtes-d'Armor to discuss ways of increasing cooperation in fields such as health care, water, and sanitation.

Invited to the annual gala of the local committee of the Cuba Coopération France (CubaCoop) association, Vaillant and the embassy's economic and commercial counselor, Danae de Paz, were received by the presidents of the agglomerations of Saint-Brieuc Armor, Ronan Kerdraon, and Guingamp-Paimpol, Vincent Le Meaux, who had stated in the past their interest in the support of Cuban doctors to make up for the shortage of professionals in emergency units and maternity wards.

Vaillant thanked CubaCoop for its efforts in the said department to organize a dozen solidarity shipments of medical and other basic supplies and gave his hosts details about the impact of the U.S. blockade on the Cuban people and the extraterritorial scope of this policy that attacks companies, banks and European citizens.
