Cuban Women's Federation ratifies its Secretary General



HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 8 (ACN) Teresa Amarelle Boue was ratified today, in Havana, as secretary general of the Cuban Women's Federation (FMC by its Spanish acronym).

In the context of the 11th Congress of the FMC, whose closing day was attended by Army General Raul Castro Ruz, leader of the Cuban Revolution, and Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the country, the new members of the National Secretariat of the organization were announced.

Sonia Rivero Lopez will occupy the position of second secretary of the Federation, while Osmayda Rivero Lopez and Anierka Fernandez del Monte will remain as members of the Secretariat in International Relations and Promotion of Women and Attention to Families, respectively.

Amarelle Boue highlighted the work of Rosmery Santiesteban Lago, who acted as second secretary until the 11th Congress, which concludes Friday, and who will be assigned new tasks.

She expressed her gratitude to the highest leadership of the country for the trust granted to Cuban women and assured that this sector will not stop overcoming the impossible.
