HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 6 (ACN) The Cuban Embassy in Haiti is taking steps to guarantee the safe return of Cubans residing in or passing through that country in view of the growing violence unleashed by criminal gangs and their clashes with local law enforcement forces.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodriguez assured that Cuba is striving to protect its citizens in Haiti, where a state of emergency was declared and air travel is suspended since Tuesday.
The Cuban Embassy announced in Port-au-Prince that the country is following up on the situation of its nationals and making arrangements to facilitate their departure from Haiti.
