HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 3 (ACN) In a message posted on X on the occasion of World Wildlife Day, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez hailed the beauty and variety of Cuba's flora and fauna.
The Head of State president urged to raise awareness of the benefits of flora and fauna and stressed the need to fight environmental crime.
He also referred to the implementation in Cuba of both the Natural Resources and Environment Act Law—proclaimed by the United Nations in 2013— and the National System of Protected Areas as part of the country’s area-based conservation measures with a view to the protection of wildlife.
This year's celebration is centered on the theme “Connecting people and planet: exploring digital innovation in wildlife conservation".
