HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 27 (ACN) Latin American, Caribbean and U.S. representatives expressed the first denunciations of the negative impact of conservative neoliberalism with fascist features, at the opening today of the 15th International Workshop on Emancipatory Paradigms of Latin America and the Caribbean.
A panel composed of personalities from Costa Rica, Cuba, Guatemala and the United States coincided in warning about the consequences of imperialist domination and its meaning of war against life and disputed hegemony in the opening ceremony of the meeting, in person and virtually at the Pabellon Cuba, headquarters of the Hermanos Saiz Association, in the Cuba Pavilion.
They also referred to the role of the left struggles, the popular social movement, the people of the global South, anti-capitalism, anti-colonialism and anti-racism, in a succession of interventions that gave way to group work.
The main theme of the latter is the Correlation of forces and political center of gravity in the continent, which includes a collective debate to end the initial day of the event, which includes collateral activities, among them Youth Meeting.
Sponsored by the Latin American Group for Social Philosophy and Axiology (GALFISA by its Spanish acronym), from the Institute of Philosophy, and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Center, the sessions will be held until next Thursday with the presence of popular groups, networks and social movements, academics, educators and others from 13 countries.
