Havana, Feb 21 (ACN) Cuban President Miguel Diaz Canel said today that learning about the real situation of the two Cuban doctors (kidnapped in Africa) is the top priority of the Cuban government.
On his X account, the head of state joined the grief of the relatives and the people following the latest news about the possible death of the two doctors under a drone attack in the Somali locality of Dilib, where they were retained.
In order to clarify the unconfirmed news, the president of the Cuban Parliament Esteban Lazo traveled to Kenya as Special Envoy, Diaz-Canel wrote on X.
On Tuesday, the Cuban Foreign Ministry issued a statement announcing that Lazo will undertake urgent action with Kenyan authorities to clarify the events allegedly involving the two Cuban doctors Assel Herrera Correa and Landy Rodriguez Hernandez, who were abducted on April 12, 2029 in the Kenian city of Mandera.
The Cuban Foreign Ministry said that international media outlets reported a US drone attack on the locality of Dilib on February 15 this year. This information was later confirmed by a spokesperson of the US African Command (AFRICOM).
