HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 20 (ACN) President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez participated in a meeting convened to review the results of agricultural work in Cuba in 2023.
Joining him were Political Bureau members Salvador Valdés Mesa, Vice President of the country, and Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the main shortcomings of and challenges facing the said strategic sector, which last year was submitted to a thorough scrutiny by the National Assembly of People's Power.
Since agricultural production is of paramount importance to the development of the nation and the welfare of the Cuban population, the discussions will revolve around topics such as increased production, financial management, land and livestock control, the contracting system, the reorganization of the budgeted and business sectors of the Ministry of Agriculture, labor management, of the work with the cadre.
