Havana, Feb 19 (ACN) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel met on Monday in Havana with Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who paid a working visit to the island.
The Cuban head of state told Lavrov that he welcomed him as a true friend of Cuba and expressed his satisfaction with his visit.
On his X account https://shorturl.at/xRW17 , Diaz-Canel wrote that he and Lavrov addressed the development of bilateral relations as well as international issues; he conveyed his greetings to President Vladimir Putin.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Lavrov blasted the US economic, commercial and financial blockade of Cuba and said that Russia will keep supporting the island nation.
Lavrov arrived in Cuba on Monday to start a Latin American tour which includes Venezuela and Brazil.
