HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 19 (ACN) Sergey Lavrov, Russian foreign minister, arrived today in Havana to begin a working visit where he will hold meetings with Cuban authorities.
Russian ministry of foreign affairs announced that Lavrov arrived early this morning in Jose Marti International Airport, kicking off a tour of Latin America.
"Moscow and Havana are united in their desire to advance towards the construction of a fairer multipolar world order," the Eurasian nation's agency added on X.
According to the foreign ministries of both nations, Lavrov will meet with Cuban president Miguel Diaz-Canel and his counterpart, foreign minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla.
Among the issues to be addressed are the most pressing issues on the global and regional agenda, as well as different aspects of bilateral cooperation, including the economic-commercial and humanitarian-cultural spheres, the Russian foreign ministry reported.
Lavrov's current visit is his ninth to Cuba since his appointment as foreign minister.
