HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 14 (ACN) The World Governments Summit that just concluded in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was home to diverse and fruitful debates, underscored the important role of science, technology and innovation in human development and well-being, and called to foster international cooperation with a view to innovative and sustainable governance, said Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, who headed the Cuban delegation to the conference.
The Cuban delegation fulfilled a busy work agenda that included debates and high-level meetings with representatives of various nations and signed an MOU with the UAE to undertake join action in order to build institutional capacities and improve governance during an official meeting with His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister, Vice-President of the United Arab Emirates and Emir of Dubai.
Under the theme of “Shaping future governments”, the World Governments Summit gathered 120 governmental delegations, 85 international organizations and some 4,000 experts to address global development challenges and promote cooperation among States and societies.
