Cuban MPs begin parliamentary visit to easternmost province of the country



GUANTANANO, Cuba, Feb 9 (ACN) Homero Acosta Alvarez, secretary of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP) and of the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba, heads the parliamentary visit that began in Guantanamo, with the participation of representatives of eight permanent working commissions of the ANPP.

Carlos Raul Martinez Turro, vice governor; program coordinators, deputies and agency directors were also present.

Acosta Alvarez explained in the presentation of the program, that until February 10 will be carried out the control of the main processes that are executed in the economic, social and services in the municipalities of Baracoa, El Salvador, Guantanamo, Imías, Manuel Tames, Niceto Perez and San Antonio del Sur, through the exchange with the deputies and the population in labor centers, education, health and communities of those territories.

The agreements approved by the National Assembly on the Economy Plan and the State Budget for 2024 will also be evaluated, as well as the directives on the prevention and confrontation of crime, corruption, illegalities and social indiscipline, among other issues of interest.

It will also be checked the organizational system and the development of the political process to correct distortions and boost the economy this year, in the system of People's Power of the territory, particularly in the People's Councils and Municipal Assemblies.

We are very pleased to come to this province, very revolutionary, combative, with a lot of working spirit, of which one always notices in the meetings, above the daily difficulties faced by the country, said Acosta Alvarez.
