Pinar del Rio, Feb 7 (ACN) A group of German students visiting this western Cuban province as part of the “Lessons under the Sails” academic program described the locals as kind, generous and heart-sensitive people.
I’m quite excited to see the everyday life of the people here and to learn about their culture, said Ilca Besoain, one of the young students who exchanged with the people, since they arrived here on January 30th.
The German academic program –this is the 14th occasion--provides the students to carry out a number of activities in this western province and other Cuban territories.
Biking tours of different towns and visits of sites of interest enrich the students’ experience here. They will make donations bikes to local schools and then travel to the capital Havana.
Some 30 German students and two professors arrived in Pinar del Rio on board the Thor Heyerdahl sailboat in late January to meet the “Lessons under the Sails” academic program.
