SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba, Feb 6 (ACN) Given the difficulties in acquiring and processing fuels, the National Office for the Rational Use of Energy in the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba ratifies the importance of knowing, spreading and implementing the recent measures dictated on saving.
Joaquin Coss Avalos, director of the institution, told the Cuban News Agency that due to the increase in electricity tariffs for high consumers, specialists strengthen the educational work with the call to reduce expenses in the residential sector, which represents more than 60 % of the consumption.
He underlined the uninterrupted operation of circles of interest related to the rational use of energy and the Clic patrols, led by children and adolescents, in order to educate them and give talks in homes on saving and care of household appliances.
Coss Avalos described as essential the support of political and mass organizations in schools, workplaces and communities in the fight against electricity fraud, since timely denunciations contribute to reduce the economic damage caused to the country.
Regarding compliance with Instruction 3/2023, issued by the Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, he pointed out that 10,058 state entities report their consumption indexes on a daily basis, given the establishment of command posts in all municipalities to control the expenses incurred.
He emphasized the protection of drinking water pumping systems for the population and irrigation systems in the agricultural sector, as well as the identification of other centers for the production of basic services, in order to prevent them from being affected.
The regulations established promote the responsible use of resources in the current context and as long as the fuel deficit persists, in order to maintain priority activities and minimize damage to the economy and the population.
