Cuban University of the Arts attends international congress Universidad 2024

HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 6 (ACN) With the aim of making agreements, sharing, exchanging and socializing academic, scientific and cultural proposals at national and international level, Cuba's University of the Arts (ISA by its Spanish acronym) is exhibiting its stand at the 14th International Congress of Higher Education Universidad 2024, starting on Monday.

Until February 9, this space will allow us to make visible what we do, since our university has six degrees that have their different outlets to postgraduate and has a PhD program in science on art, said Maria Luisa Perez Lopez de Queralta, vice rector of university extension of ISA, to the Cuban News Agency.
She added that the center also offers different master's degrees essentially linked to cultural management and practice, depending on each of the artistic manifestations.

Focused on university extension in line with the 2030 Agenda, the University of the Arts seeks to train art students and bring art to the community; for that reason, the Congress is an opportunity to achieve direct interaction with the Cuban and foreign public, the vice rector commented.

One of the main elements that called the attention of the spectators, said Perez Lopez de Queralta, was a box that appears to be made with ISA's bricks, to represent its architecture and how it was designed from its beginnings as a Higher Institute of Art.

The initiative to launch calls to participate in contests related to the history of ISA and its role within the Cuban cultural sphere, through the questions: when it was founded, who were its fundamental figures, what is studied at ISA, what is the importance of a university of the arts in a country like Cuba, among others, she highlighted.

The 14th International Congress on Higher Education Universidad 2024, opened on Monday at the Havana Convention Center, will be attended by representatives from 40 countries.
