HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 31 (ACN) In its monthly report, Cuba’s Institute of Meteorology (INSMET) said that abundant rainfall is expected in February, the fourth month of the Cuban rainy season, usually marked by as many cold fronts as in January.
INSMET’s Climate Center also pointed out that El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) event, which as a rule affects Cuba in February and March with increased rains and colder weather, continues to evolve in the Pacific Ocean.
According to the report, the MEI (ENSO Multivariate Index) forecast model foresees that the said event will last until April or May and reach its peak between February and March.
