Cienfuegos, Jan 18 (ACN) The University of Cienfuegos, in this south-central province held its 44th graduation on Thursday and granted diplomas to some 814 new professionals.
With this new figure, the university has graduated some 28 thousand professionals, 63 of whom got Gold Diplomas this year.
In her remarks at the graduation ceremony, University rector Orquidea Urquiola dedicated the graduation to the 65th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution and congratulated all graduates.
The higher education center previously was known as the Cienfuegos Higher Technical Institute since 1979 and was turned into a university in 1994 and named after outstanding Cuban revolutionary Carlos Rafael Rodriguez in 1998.
The university counts on seven faculties, five study centers under the faculties and four scientific magazines, plus a science and technological trade society promoting development and innovation services. The center also develops Phd and master’s degree programs.
