Cuba and Uganda Boost Trade Links

Havana, Jan 18 (ACN) Cuban and Ugandan officials signed a MOU to promote compensated trade between their nations, during a meeting in that country by Cuban vice-president Salvador Valdes Mesa and his local counterpart Jessica Alupo.

The document offers great opportunities to strengthen cooperation between Uganda and Cuba, said Valdes Mesa, who will participate at the 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and the Third Summit of the South.

The NAM summit kicked off January 16 with preparatory lectures and as of Saturday, the meeting will gather representatives of over one hundred nations who will call for unity and cooperation among the member states.

Uganda is also hosting the Third Summit of the South since last Sunday up to January 23rd in which Cuba will hand over to Uganda the rotatory presidency of the Group of 77 plus China.
