BAYAMO, Cuba, Jan 16 (ACN) The next April 18 will be the 205th anniversary of the birth in this eastern city of the Father of the Homeland Carlos Manuel de Cespedes, an event that invites all Cubans to celebrate the life and work of a key figure in the history of the country.
On the occasion of the anniversary, the call from the museum located in the house where the hero was born, in the capital of the eastern province of Granma, highlights the honor of the people who remember those who knew how to sacrifice themselves for him, and thus showed the way forward.
According to Javier Andres Vega Leyva, director of the aforementioned patrimonial institution, duty is more important in the case of the Initiator: the man who awakened the sleeping spirits, gathered them around his war horse and dragged them to the revolution.
That is why we have to celebrate with the joy of seeing in Cespedes the greatest sum of virtue, a giant of thought and conduct, because in that unity of life and spirit, of will and work, his greatness is founded, Vega Leyva emphasized.
Let there be no Cuban who does not have, in his fervent patriotic heart, admiration for the Father of the Homeland! Let us hold the Flag as did Cespedes, Jose Marti, Fidel Castro and other great fighters who, in uninterrupted succession, passed on the tricolor banner of the Revolution, concludes the call signed by the also president of the Union of Historians of Cuba in Granma.
Under the slogan "With you, the whole Homeland", the call is accompanied by a broad communication campaign conceptualized by the Carlos Manuel de Cespedes Birthplace Museum, the Cuban Association of Social Communicators in the eastern province and the work project Grafica Espiral.
