New Code of Ethics reaffirms the exemplary behavior of cadres

HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 16 (ACN) The relevance and comprehensiveness of the new Code of Ethics of the Cadres of the Cuban Revolution was discussed on Monday in Havana by authorities of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CCPCC).

Published on Monday in the Official Gazette of the Republic, Presidential Decree 711/2023 is based on the validity of the thought of National Hero Jose Marti, the concept of Revolution of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro and the ideas put forward in the speeches of Army General Raul Castro Ruz and Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, First Secretary of the CCPCC and President of the Republic.

This was stated by Miriam Marban Gonzalez, member of the CCPCC in charge of the subgroup in elaboration of the law, on which, she explained, after a long process of consultation with Party structures, political, mass and social, governmental and administrative organizations, more than 5,600 opinions were gathered, mostly in favor of the importance of the legal body and the need to strengthen the role of cadres at the present time.

She explained that as a result of those consultations, contemplated in the Strategy of the Cadres Policy analyzed at the 8th Congress of the Party and approved at the 2nd Plenary Session of the Central Committee, modifications were made in each one of the paragraphs of the proposal presented until reaching the final version.

Marban Gonzalez pointed out that the body of the regulation emphasizes aspects already contemplated in its predecessor, approved in 1996, such as the duty to defend the socialist homeland, personal exemplarity and accountability and public scrutiny, while incorporating the maxim of assuming and fulfilling those principles in a coherent manner to face the ideological and economic war imposed by imperialism, the uniformity of proceeding in the physical and digital plane and the recognition of ethics as a conquest of the Revolution, among other issues.

We insist on reaching a higher degree of understanding of the issues included for a more conscious application of the same, for which reason this is one of the permanent topics of analysis in the meetings with the cadres and are part of the indicators that are measured, she added.

It is a Code contextualized to the present time, which reflects the aspirations for the present and future of the nation from the correct performance of its leaders and managers.
