Havana, Jan 15 (ACN) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, first secretary of the Cuban Communist Party, met at Havana’s Revolution Palace with Serguei Y Glaziev, Member of the Board and Minister of Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
Diaz-Canel stressed Glaziev’s presence here describing it as of great significance for the development of the Eurasian Economic Commission and Cuba.
The visitor is heading a delegation to participate at the Third Meeting of the Eurasian Economic Commission and Cuba.
Cuba prioritizes the advancement and consolidation of links with the Eurasian Economic Union and the implementation of all plans proposed, which were addressed on Monday during the Third Meeting.
He also stressed Cuba’s willingness to further expand economic and commercial relations with other countries of the group, in which Cuba maintains observer status.
Meanwhile, Glaziev thanked the Cuban President for his welcoming of his delegation and for expressing the importance Cuba gives to the work of the Eurasian Economic Union. He said all conditions are ready to advance bilateral relations to a higher stage.
The Cuban head of state was accompanied by deputy Premier Ricardo Cabrisas, who is also the Foreign Trade and Investment Minster and by Ana Teresita Gonzalez, deputy minister of that same government office.
On Monday, Glaziev and Cabrisas signed a protocol as part of the Third Meeting, encompassing the shared willingness to expand bilateral economic and commercial links as well as cooperation relations in areas such as medical supplies and medications, the agro-industry, and entrepreneurial activity, among other sectors of interest for both parties.
