HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 14 (ACN) The project Bridges of Love called for an international caravan on January 28 to demand the U.S. government to lift the blockade and remove Cuba from the list of state sponsors of terrorism, Prensa Latina news agency reported in Washington.
"What better date for our caravan, it is a beautiful coincidence," project coordinator Carlos Lazo remarked in reference to the date, which marks the 171st anniversary of the birth of José Martí, the most universal and greatest of all Cubans. “Bridges of Love invites all people of good will from all over the world to join us.
He said that his call is addressed to Cubans everywhere and to all peace-loving persons who feel as their own the suffering of the Cuban people under this cruel and inhuman blockade.
“Take to the streets, carry a flag, and post a message on social networks; make your voice heard as you urge President Joe Biden to keep his promise and change his Cuba policy,” he stressed. “In 1892, Marti wrote that mankind is composed of two sorts of men: those who love and create, and those who hate and destroy. We puenteros are among the former.”
Bridges of Love is one of the most active groups within the United States in the fight against the US blockade, a hostile policy that has survived 11 Democratic and Republican administrations.
