Diaz-Canel recognizes work of members of the Revolutionary National Police

HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 5 (ACN) Miguel Diaz-Canel, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the country, sent today a strong hug to the members of the National Revolutionary Police (PNR), on the 65th anniversary of the creation of that institution.
On X, the President congratulated the members of the PNR, whom he described as heroic combatants who never rest in the fulfillment of the sacred duty of maintaining public tranquility, an inalienable conquest of the Revolution.
We congratulate the members of our PNR, who for 65 years have ensured one of the values that distinguish Cuba: public tranquility, said Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, on the same social network.
On the occasion of the date, Jose Angel Portal Miranda, head of the Ministry of Public Health ( MINSAP), thanked this revolutionary institution for its accompaniment in the different scenarios lived in the country after the triumph of January 1, 1959.
Long live the 65th anniversary of our PNR, women and men of the people standing up in the battle against crime, illegalities and social indiscipline, said the Ministry of the Interior on X, on the occasion of the anniversary.
The PNR was officially constituted on January 5, 1959, after the revolutionary triumph of January 1st, having as antecedent the Rebel Police, which operated from the hills of eastern Cuba during the last stage of the insurrectional struggle.
It's main mission is to preserve public order, public tranquility and road safety.
