
HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 28 (ACN) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel lamented today the decease of the renowned doctor Pablo Resik at the age of 93.
In a message posted on X, the Cuban leader sent his condolences to Dr. Resik’s daughter Magda Resik, a journalist and Director of Communication of the Office of the Historian of the City, and praised the accomplishments of the late scientist and health care professional, whose record includes being at the head of Cuba’s first medical brigade in Algeria in 1963.
Dr. Resik, who shared his knowledge in journals, monographs and books, earned various distinctions and recognitions throughout his life, such as the category of Consulting Professor (1997), Researcher of Merit (2003), and Honorary Member of the Cuban Society of History of Medicine (2016), among other commendations.
