HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 27 (ACN) Cuba’s Ministry of Higher Education (MES) announced the 14th International Congress on Higher Education, to be held on February 5 to 9 in this city.
Under the theme “Higher Education of the Future: Social Transformation, Quality, Relevance and Sustainability”, the event will be an opportunity to discuss the responsibilities inherent in this level of education regarding national evolution from the economic, socio-cultural and environmental viewpoints.
The Congress will include forums related to the links between Sustainable Development Goals and higher education and its future development in Latin American and the Caribbean, as well as debates about knowledge, innovation and sustainable regional development and a meeting of ministers and authorities.
A major goal of the Congress is to strengthen the role of higher education in society with a view to finding more effective and innovative solutions to national problems and ways of ensuring inclusiveness and quality and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.
