Matanzas, Dec 26 (ACN) A new lab outfitted with modern technology in this western province is operative in the physical and chemical analysis and certification of fertilizers both produced in Cuba and imported.
The announcement was made by the director of soils and fertilizers with the Cuban Agriculture Ministry Dagoberto Rodriguez who noted that the lab is vital for low-income agriculture due to the lack of fertilizers.
During a visit to the facility, Communist Party leader in the province Susely Morfa and governor Mario Sabines insisted in the need to combine knowledge and praxis to strengthen production programs.
The new lab analyses fertility, texture, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium levels in the soil as well as organic matter, and measures the quality of fertilizers.
