Raul Castro Acknowledges Support by Local Industry to the Armed Forces

Havana, Dec 21 (ACN) Cuban Revolution leader, Army General Raul Castro asked lawmakers gathered at a parliament session to acknowledge the role of the Ministry of Industries and its workers, along Minister Eloy Alvarez for the outstanding support given over the years to the works and tasks of the Revolutionary Armed Forces.

The Ministry of Industries submitted the report on its performance to the Parliament session also attended by Cuban President Miguel-Diaz Canel.

Industry Minister Eloy Alvarez told Raul Castro and the deputies that they all can count on the support of his entity and its workers for any task. He said that the implementation of major production and programs of his industry has been affected by the US economic blockade, the lack of hard currency and fuels, as well as by internal inefficiencies.

The implementation of the country’s social and economic strategy, the strengthening of the state-run companies and their linkage to new non-state enterprises along the application of science, technology and innovation are among the goals of the Ministry of Industries.
