HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 18 (ACN) How to apply and strengthen scientific work to solve complex problems was discussed today at the Agrifood Commission of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP), in the presence of Salvador Valdes Mesa, vice president of the country.
Nivian Montes de Oca, vice president of the Agrifood Commission, stated that the preparation of cadres at all levels is essential to obtain better results, although she acknowledged the shortage of products in the sector as an aggravating factor that directly influences food production.
The deputies analyzed today the results and recommendations made in the exercise of the highest supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture ( MINAG), in the work of the commission, ahead of the 2nd Ordinary Period of Sessions of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP) in its 10th Legislature.
At the Convention Center in Havana, deputies from different regions of the country discussed compliance with Agreement X-32 of the 1st Ordinary Period of Sessions of the 10th Legislature.
They recommended increasing the national productive capacities of bioproducts, biofactories and high quality seeds, carrying out training actions for managers, specialists and technicians, as well as the recovery of the productive capacities created with the investments in the grain (rice, corn and beans), swine and poultry farming programs.
Commander of the Rebel Army Jose Ramon Machado Ventura; Felix Duarte Ortega, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and head of the Agrifood Department; Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba; Rafael Ramon Santiesteban Pozo, president of the National Association of Small Farmers, and Ydael Perez Brito, Minister of Agriculture, were present at the debates.
