HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 14 (ACN) The reality of social communication in Cuba and its role at present were discussed in intense debates at the 7th Congress of the Association that brings together professionals in this field in the country, which concluded on Wednesday after two days at the Convention Center in Havana.
Rogelio Polanco Fuentes, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, said from his account on X that the event included vigorous debates on the role of communication, the functions of the Institute of Information and Social Communication, the Law and its regulations, as well as the communicational education of the whole society.
On the first day Rosa Maria Perez Gutierrez, national president of the organization, presented the report corresponding to the work during the period 2017-2023, which had as an essential objective to contribute, from communication, to the updating of the country's economic-social model.
