Diaz-Canel recognizes importance of ties between the PCC and the MPLA



HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 12 (ACN) Miguel Diaz-Canel, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and president of the Republic, recognized today the importance of the joint work between the PCC and the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA).

On X, Diaz-Canel referred to a meeting he held with Manuel Domingos Augusto, secretary of the Political Bureau for International Relations of the MPLA, with whom he agreed to highlight the work of the parties of both countries, to deepen the exchange and cooperation between the two governments and peoples.
The Cuban head of state described as pleasant the exchange with the Angolan party leader, which took place at the Palace of the Revolution, in this capital.

On Monday, representatives of the two nations signed an Exchange and Cooperation Agreement between the PCC and the MPLA to strengthen areas such as the formation and training of cadres, and bilateral cooperation in economy.

Domingos Augusto praised the document as a legal instrument of great importance that consecrates the historical relations between the two parties and emphasized that in order to fulfill the tasks foreseen in it, a Road Map was signed that establishes the annual program to be implemented between the organizations.

In this context, Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the PCC, stated that the visit of the Angolan delegation, which takes place in the framework of the 67th anniversary of the MPLA, will deepen the relations of their parties and governments.

Besides, Domingos Augusto held talks with Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Cuban foreign minister, with whom he appreciated the high level of historical ties and brotherhood between their people.

Cuba and Angola established diplomatic relations on November 15, 1975 with the permanent political will of their respective governments to strengthen and diversify them.
