HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 11 (ACN) Miguel Diaz-Canel, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the country, led today the ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Translators and Interpreters Services Team (ESTI), reported the presidency on X.
The ceremony was also attended by Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister of Cuba, and Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Cuban foreign minister.
The occasion served to recognize this group that for five decades has been at the service of the Homeland and the Cuban people to ensure that the truth of the Revolution reaches all parts of the world in an affective way, explained the Presidency in another message.
During the ceremony, the ESTI awards were presented to the new professional, bilateral interpretation, simultaneous interpretation, translation and training of professionals, as well as the Special Award to translator Gilberto Bengochea.
Speaking at the meeting, Rodriguez Parrilla highlighted the imprint of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz in the founding and training of ESTI.
He described these professionals as a team that is an example of dedication, revolutionary spirit and excellence in their work.
