Vice President of Palestinian National Council visited Cuban Parliament

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 6 (ACN) Ali Faysal, vice president of the Palestinian National Council, who is making an official visit to Cuba, met with members of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP).

During their talks, ANPP VP Ana María Mari Machado reasserted the Cuban Parliament’s support for Palestine and its opposition to the ongoing Israeli aggression.

Mr. Faysal, also Representative of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine in Lebanon, said it was a privilege to be in socialist Cuba, where he feels the affection and respect of millions of followers of Fidel Castro's ideas. Likewise, he referred to the harsh period of massacres and genocide his people are going through and regretted that a spirit of fascism still looms large in his land, where more than 16,000 people have died, including more than 6,000 children, and many thousands are still missing, and praised the solidarity received from Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and ANPP president Esteban Lazo Hernández, whom he thanked for defending the Palestinian cause in various international forums and mechanisms.

On his end, Rolando González Patricio, chair of the Parliament's International Relations Commission, ratified Cuba's long-standing commitment to the Palestinians and pointed out that the island would otherwise betray the memory and legacy of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.
