HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 17 (ACN) With the presence of Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the country, a space for analysis dedicated to the thoughts of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz on the Economic and Social Crisis of the World, more than four decades after the publication of that text, is being held today in Havana.
The panel takes place as part of the program of the 14th International Meeting of Economists on Globalization and Development Problems initiated by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution in 1999
The event, held at the Havana Convention Center, brings together some 500 economists from nearly 40 countries, including prestigious academics, researchers and officials in search of answers to the challenges of the contemporary world.
Among the main topics discussed during these days are the challenges of the international economy in times of crisis, multilateralism from its different visions, economic globalization, international trade, trends in monetary-financial relations and international flows.
The Cuban leader was accompanied by Joel Queipo Ruiz, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and head of the Economic and Productive Department, and Oscar Luis Hung Penton, president of the National Association of Economists and Accountants of Cuba (ANEC).
