Havana, Nov 13 (ACN) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez announced the start of the recovery stage in the region of Moa, eastern Holguin province, which was strongly affected by floods caused by an overflown river.
On his X account, Diaz-Canel said the central government has been in contact with Communist Party leader in the territory Ernesto Velazquez after the floods inflicted severe property damage in several localities.

On Sunday morning, the overflow of the Cabana river took Moa locality residents by surprise, severely affecting their homes.
Local authorities managed to evacuate all residents in the locality avoiding victims. However, the damage is huge particularly in specific neighborhoods like Ecrin, which is home to 374 people including 72 minors and 28 senior citizens in 135 homes.
