Spanish scientist to be titled Cuban academician

 HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 12 (ACN) One of the world referents in the field of Artificial Intelligence, the Spanish professor Francisco Herrera Triguero, will be awarded Corresponding Academician status by the Cuban Academy of Sciences (ACC), a distinction granted to eminent foreign scientists for their universal progress-oriented research.

Professor Herrera Triguero, who is director of the Soft Computing and Intelligent Information Systems research group at the University of Granada and of the Andalusian Inter-University Institute in Data Science and Computational Intelligence of the Universities of Granada and Jaen, has maintained far-reaching and fruitful cooperation links with Cuban universities for more than 15 years.

In the context of the awarding ceremony, the Spanish professor will give a lecture titled “A Holistic Vision of Artificial Intelligence. Safe and Reliable: Risks, Ethics, Regulation and Auditability”.
