HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 10 (ACN) The Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment of Cuba reiterated its initiative to make available to citizens the draft Law on Transparency and Access to Public Information, to express their opinions, suggestions and recommendations to improve it.
The legislation responds to the principles enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic, according to which, all persons have the right to request and receive truthful, objective and timely information from the State, and to have access to the information generated by its organs, explained the organism in its official announcement.
It added that it recognizes the right of all citizens to access their personal data in records, archives or other databases and information of a public nature, to its non-disclosure and to obtain the due correction, rectification, modification, updating or cancellation.
The Official Gazette of the Republic of Cuba published last June 13 the agreement of the National Assembly of People's Power of December 21, 2019, corresponding to the Fourth Ordinary Period of Sessions of its 9th Legislature, the Legislative Schedule for the period from 2023-2027, which includes 53 laws and 29 decree-laws.
