SANTIAGO DE CHILE, , Oct 24 (ACN) Cuban boxer Fernando Arzola, in the +92 kilograms (kg) division, achieved today a place on the awards podium in boxing at the Pan American Games Santiago 2023.
Arzola, silver medalist in the World Championship of that sport, hosted by Tashkent, Uzbekistan, a few months ago, showed himself superior to the Canadian Marcel Mouafo, whom he defeated 5-0 by unanimous vote of the judges.
After that victory, the Cuban boxer told the press at the Olympic Training Center that he already accomplished a first goal, to be on the podium, but he wants more and the next thing will be to reach the final to discuss the title.
He reiterated that his goal in the Pan American Games will be to win the gold medal, to dedicate it to his mother and the Cuban people.
