Cuba Youths Express Support of Palestinians amidst Israeli Escalation

Havana, Oct 23 (ACN) Hundreds of Cuban youths expressed their support of the cause of Palestinian people amidst the escalation of violence by the government of Israel.

A cultural ceremony of support with Palestine held in Havana and organized by the Young Communist League gathered people from different generations, including Palestinian students in Cuba, youth leaders and the ambassador of Palestine to Cuba Akram Samhan, along other political officials.

Palestinian medical student here Razan Maleh told ACN about her deep gratefulness to Cuba and its people who shared a feeling of friendship with her compatriots; she said the two nations are victims of imperialist aggression.

Maleh denounced the crimes committed against the Palestinian people, the murder of children and women, the attacks against hospitals and other facilities as well as other atrocities like the case of her own uncle hwo has been unfairly imprisoned for 28 years now in an Israeli jail.
“I have learned much in Cuba and when I graduate as medical doctor I will go back to work in my country to help my people until my last day,” she said.

Reudenis Salas, member of the National Bureau of Cuba’s Young Communist League said that these ceremonies make culture the cure of the soul as reflected in the expressions of Cubans who raise their voices in support of fair causes like that of Palestine.

The ceremony included the screening of videos about the ongoing destruction caused by Israeli shelling of Gaza.
