HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 23 (ACN) Miguel Diaz-Canel, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, reiterated today Cuba's solidarity with the Palestinian cause and assured that the genocide carried out by Israel is a shame for humanity that must cease.
On X, Diaz-Canel highlighted that on Sunday, when speaking at the Summit of Heads of State and Government on migration (in Chiapas, Mexico), his first words were of strong condemnation of the merciless massacre of defenseless people in this conflict.
"Every moment of impunity of action, passivity, double standards or silence will cost more innocent lives," he added to his message.
Cuban position, expressed in a recent statement on the escalation of violence between Israel and Palestine, is to reject the deaths of civilians and innocent people of all parties involved in this conflict, regardless of ethnicity, nationality or religious faith.
The statement of the Cuban foreign ministry made an urgent call for a cease-fire and to immediately facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Cuba calls for an end to the warmongering rhetoric and reaffirms its support for a comprehensive, just and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, on the basis of the creation of two States, allowing the exercise of the right to self-determination of the Palestinian people and the creation of an independent and sovereign Palestinian State within the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and also guaranteeing the right of return of refugees, the statement underlined.
