Havana convenes the City Architecture Award

HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 23 (ACN) The Government of Havana and the provincial branch of the Society of Architecture renewed their call for the City Architecture Award with the purpose of highlighting distinguished works for their quality of design and execution.

Each of them must contribute to preserve and enrich its built heritage, raise the quality of life of its inhabitants, the environment and the urban image, according to the call that classifies them as new and built.

This includes conservation, restoration and rehabilitation works, in consideration of their integral quality, which includes both design and execution, including the contributions of originality, aesthetics and rationality.

The proposals will take into account the principles of sustainability, innovation and interdisciplinary integration in work teams of Havana architects as individuals or companies, the former made up of designers, investors and builders.

The award ceremony will be held in the last week of November, according to the bases of this group, of the Provincial Committee of the National Union of Architects and Construction Engineers of Cuba (UNAICC by its Spanish acronym).
