Havana, Oct 13 (ACN) In the face of increasing threats posed by natural disasters, Cuba prioritizes the minimization of human and property damage by such phenomena, said Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez.
On the occasion of International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, the diplomat stressed on X the preparation, planning and organization by the Cuban Civil Defense authority in facing dangerous natural phenomena.
Jose Fidel Santana, first deputy minister for Science, Technology and the Environment stressed the Cuban state climate change programs known as “Tarea Vida” or Life Task aimed at cushioning the climate impact on the island. The program includes five major actions and 11 specific tasks aimed at facing the climate change consequences in vulnerable areas.
