Cuba will keep striving to tackle climate change



 HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 20 (ACN) At the Climate Ambition Summit held in the context of the 78th UNGA, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel reasserted that Cuba remains steadfast in its commitment to tackle climate change despite the serious obstacles and limitations imposed by the U.S. blockade, intensified in recent years.

Díaz-Canel remarked that his country has laid down a State Plan—called Task Life—aligned with national goals and international commitments and based on far-reaching adaptation and mitigation actions and stressed the urgent need that the developed nations meet their commitment to spearhead the world’s battle against climate change.

The high-level General Debate that is going on at the UN since September 19 under the theme “Rebuilding trust and reigniting global solidarity: Accelerating action on the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals towards peace, prosperity, progress and sustainability for all".
