Havana, Sept 20 (ACN) Cuban Parliament President Esteban Lazo met on Wednesday with Russian ambassador to Cuba Victor Koronelli at Havana’s Capitol building, seat of the Cuban National Assembly of People’s Power.
Both the Cuban Parliament and the Russian Embassy in Havana shared pictures on their X accounts about the meeting, which took place ahead of the Russia-Latin America International Parliamentary Conference.
Russia-Cuba historic relations date back to 1902; later in 1913 the island opened its consulate in Saint Petersburg. After the 1959 triumph of the Cuban Revolution relations between the two countries strengthened in different areas of common interest.
