Russian President Wishes Success to the ALBA-TCP SummitHAVANA, Cuba, Dec 14 (acn) The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, sent on Sunday a message to Army General Raul Castro, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party and President of the councils of State and Ministers, in which he wished success to the ALBA-TCP Summit.

In the letter, read to the heads of state and other heads of delegations to that forum by Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, member of the Politburo of the PCC, Putin congratulates Raul for the fact that the meeting takes place under the chairmanship of Cuba, coinciding with the 10 th anniversary of the aforementioned integrationist bloc.

He highlights that in its ten years of existence, the Alliance has won well-deserved international prestige "as an efficient organization with prospects for regional cooperation."

The text underlines that its member nations put into practice the ideas of Simon Bolivar on the integration of countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, on the basis of its historic, ethnic and cultural community and the proximity of their political and economic interests.

"We highly appreciate the constructive line of ALBA States in international affairs; we share their fidelity to the principles of a fair and democratic economic order, based on the norms of International Law and the central role of the United Nations," points out the Russian head of state in his message to Raul.

Putin stressed with satisfaction the nature of friendship and partnership of relations between his country and the Alliance, and ratified the interest to continue expanding negotiations and practical interaction, on bilateral and multilateral bases.

He expressed the certainty that these bonds "are in line with the fundamental interests of our peoples, and make progress in the road to guaranteeing peace, stability and safety in Latin America and the world."
