Daniel Ortega: Once again Cuba will overcome

 

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 14 (ACN Once again Cuba will win because the peoples accompany and fight for their people, said Daniel Ortega Saavedra, President of the Republic of Nicaragua, during his speech at the Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of the Americas and the Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP).

At the Havana Conventions Center, Ortega Saavedra in his emotional words assured that Cuba is a heroic country and it is necessary to continue fighting for the U.S. government to eliminate the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on it.

He recalled the history of how imperialism came to take over Nicaragua, the struggle of Augusto César Sandino and the courage of the Nicaraguan patriots who had no other alternative but to give their lives rather than surrender to the aggressors.

The dignitary reiterated his country's support to the Cuban Revolution, and evoked Fidel and Chávez, who had the clarity to found ALBA-TCP, a mechanism that brought together Latin American and Caribbean nations that later established the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac), a dream of Simón Bolívar.

Daniel Ortega greeted the heads of delegations participating in this extraordinary session of the National Assembly of People's Power celebrating the 18th anniversary of the integration program, and highlighted the impact of ALBA-TCP solidarity on the peoples of the region.

In his speech, he referred to the need to re-found the United Nations Organization, under the principle of a new world where agreements that can be fulfilled are established.

Visibly moved, the President of Nicaragua expressed that the presence of Fidel and Chávez, who founded the alliance for the good of the peoples and solidarity, is felt in these celebrations.
