Participants in XXII ALBA-TCP Summit travel to Havana

 

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 14 (ACN) Sacha Llorenti, executive secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People's Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), announced this Tuesday that he is in Havana to participate in the 22nd Summit of Heads of State and Government of the integration mechanism on December 14.

Through Twitter, the official affirmed that everything is ready for the event, which will celebrate the 18th anniversary of the creation of ALBA-TCP.

"Enormously privileged to be in Cuba. Ready for the realization of the XXII Summit of Heads of State and Government and the celebration of the XVIII anniversary of @ALBATCP," Llorenti wrote and added the hashtag #AlianzaParaLaVida to his message.

According to Prensa Latina news agency, the president of Bolivia, Luis Arce, also left for the Cuban capital to participate in the event.

The 22nd Summit of Heads of State and Government ALBA-TCP will be a space for exchanging on the progress and challenges of this mechanism of agreement, for the benefit of nations, the Cuban Foreign Ministry said.

This political, economic and social alliance is made up of 10 countries: Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Dominica, Antigua and Barbuda, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, St. Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis, Grenada and Cuba.

Founded in Havana on December 14, 2004 by historic leaders Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez, ALBA-TCP is an integration mechanism that emphasizes solidarity, complementarity, justice and cooperation.
