Cuban lawmakers start working sessions



HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 11 (ACN) As a prelude to the tenth and last ordinary session of the Ninth Legislature of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP), this Sunday its permanent commissions will deal with issues on the agenda scheduled from tomorrow until Wednesday in the plenary hall of the Havana´s Conventions Center.

Common denominator to all of them, and with greater depth in the Economic Affairs Commission, will be the analysis of the country's economic results and the execution of the State Budget in 2022, and the perspectives and objectives for the coming year, after the Fifth Plenary Session of the Party's Central Committee reviewed the progress of the main indicators.

The improvement of the National Tax Administration Office (ONAT) and the problems with under-declaration by taxpayers and tax evasion are on the agenda of the deputies of that commission, who together with those of the Agri-Food Commission will evaluate the performance of the Collection system.

The latter and the Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee will also discuss together the bill on the Promotion and Development of Livestock, one of the four bills to be submitted for the approval of the deputies, although the Azcuba Group will also report on the preparations and aspirations for the 2022-2023 harvest and the promotion of sugar cane production, sugar and its by-products.

According to the intense program of the tenth ordinary session of the ANPP, today the Education, Culture, Science, Technology and Environment Commission will deal with the improvement of research, knowledge of history and the use of national patriotic symbols, and will learn about the National Program called Sowing Ideas, Sowing Conscience.

The debate on such a critical problem as passenger transportation will occupy the deputies of Attention to Services, who will hear a report from the Minister of Transportation, in addition to evaluating the fight against illegalities, crime and corruption in domestic commerce.

Almost in the final stage of the IX Legislature, this Sunday's meetings will include a critical and self-critical analysis of the performance of all the permanent commissions, which during the last five years have supervised or controlled matters of great importance for the country and the population, besides having as a working style the approach to the base, to the communities and centers of production, services, research and teaching.

From tomorrow until Wednesday, in the plenary hall, the deputies will approve four bills, and several ministers, including the Prime Minister, will provide an update on issues such as the electro-energy situation, the improvement of the local subordination retail trade, the fight against illegalities, crime and corruption and the demographic state of the country.

In particular, the Council of State, in the voice of Esteban Lazo, president of the ANPP; the Ministry of Communications through its head Mayra Arevich Marín, and the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic, in the person of the Comptroller General, Gladys M. Bejerano Portela, will give an account of their efforts.

According to Homero Acosta, Secretary of the National Assembly of People's Power, the current Legislature, which still has several months of hard work ahead of it, has been a fruitful period, characterized by the new Constitution of the Republic and the approval of several laws of great depth and depth and with an extraordinary scope in the social and legal order.
