HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 11 (ACN) On the occasion of the celebration of International Human Rights Day, Cuban authorities and institutions highlighted some of the country's achievements in protecting the rights of all people, regardless of nationality, place of residence, sex, national or ethnic origin, religion, language or any other condition.
The country guarantees free access to health and education for all citizens equally, this is an example of human rights before the world, said Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz on Twitter.
Marrero Cruz also condemned the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba more than 60 years ago, which constitutes a constant violation of the human rights of the people.
Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, recalled Commander in Chief Fidel Castro when he expressed that the Cuban Revolution can be synthesized as an aspiration for social justice within the fullest freedom and the most absolute respect for human rights.
Cuba has ratified on multiple occasions its invariable commitment to the promotion and protection of all rights for all people, with their interdependent and indivisible character, said on Twitter the National Assembly of People's Power.
The international community celebrates this day every December 10, the same date that, in 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
This declaration is a common standard of conduct for all peoples and nations, towards which individuals and societies should strive to adopt progressive national and international measures to achieve its universal and effective recognition and observance.
