5th Plenary Session of the Cuban Central Committee of the Communist Party began in Havana



HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 9 (ACN) The 5th Plenary Session of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CC PCC) began today, presided over by the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party and president of the country, Miguel Diaz-Canel.

The meeting, which will be held for two days at the Havana Convention Center, will be attended by the members of the Political Bureau, the Secretariat of the Central Committee and 108 members of the Central Committee, the party organization informed on its website.

Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdes Menendez, Commander of the Rebel Army Jose Ramon Machado Ventura and members of the Auxiliary Structure of the CC PCC are also attending the meeting.

In the first minutes of the meeting, a review of the agreements of the II, III and IV Plenary Sessions of the CCPCC was conducted by Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization.

The agenda for Friday includes the presentation and discussion of the Report on the work of the Political Bureau since the previous plenary session to date and the evaluation of the Strategy to strengthen the integral role of the Young Communist League in the present and future of the country.

At the meeting a group of measures will be proposed to face the current situation of the country, in the economic-social and political-ideological fields, as well as ideas for the organization of the II National Conference of the Party will be presented.
