PINAR DEL RÍO, Cuba, Nov 30 (ACN) As of December 3, a partial transition to digital terrestrial TV will start in several municipalities of this province as part of the nationwide introduction of this technology.
According to Luis Armenteros Jaida, head of RadioCuba's Regional Division, the process involves stopping the analog transmissions of both of Cuban TV’s learning channels and, once the specialists finish all the changes to the scheduled broadcasts, making a new manual or automatic channel search with the digital set-top boxes to update the system.
The province of Pinar del Río will pioneer this transition process, which in general entails modifying the technological infrastructure to reduce power consumption and ensure the most efficient use and decongestion of the radio electric spectrum.
